Cutting out heaps of leaves with very sharp scissors, I attempted to self-amputate my finger. Blood everywhere, pain, gaping wound, contemplating stitches but that requires a thirty minute drive to the hospital. Hmm, what to do? Go next door to neighbour! Excellent idea - bandaids, sympathy, pain-reducing white wine, loud funny stories about boyfriends. Feeling much better, thank you.

Ouch! Be very careful. I hope this doesn’t slow you down. Those lime leaves look like they need a home.

I’d opt for bandaids and drinkable alcohol, too, over stitches. But I’m sure the finished quilt will be worth all the pain and tipsiness!

I’ve often thought hospitals should serve up pain-reducing white wine. Hope you didn’t get blood on the quilt pieces.

Love the leaves, so sorry about your injury, I must admit I have been there and done that. Thank goodness for great friends and neighbors. I think my 80+ year old neighbors would call an ambulance

Kirsty! Be careful! And put down the scissors after that pain-reducing white wine (and pass me some, please).
Super glue works well on cuts. Just sayin’.

Not laughing
Teenage Girl sitting beside me in car on way back from Mt Isa - ” Whats that?”
NL - ” That is a cigarette lighter”
TG - ” How does it work?
NL - “you push it in and when it gets hot it pops out”
TG - oooh! (pushes lighter in hole -after removing charger for MP3 player)
—–Seconds later —Pop out it comes into the centre console
NL - “pick it up before it burns something”
TG - “noooo”
NL - “Picks up hot end - bad smell in car”
TG - “what is that smell?”
NL - “burning flesh” pushes finger into Air conditioning outlet and holds it there for 1 hour while driving with one hand
It does not hurt now.

Glad you found a bandaid - always a prerequisite when I am needle felting! Have you tried that - it’s a great way of getting rid of some pent up frustrations!!
