I have had Catherine Swan’s website bookmarked for the longest time. Her butterflies have made me smile over and over again. Then Erin showed us this from Ali Edwards site and I knew it was time to get my act together and make some of my own. (Thanks for the push, Erin!) I was so enthused I cut straight into my new issue of inside design before I’ d even read it…

Kirsty, these are sooo beautiful - how big are they? Did you punch them out or cut by hand?

They are superb. I went through a phase of stringing origami butterflies with jewellers wire and semi precious stones. These butterflies have reminded me of that!

They are too fantastic! Now I’m going to have to start something else before I have finished what I was doing just now. Dam you Kirsten for your brilliant ideas!

They’re fabulous. I’d spotted them ages ago too, maybe with spring in the air I’ll get to making them…

I love them. You must tell us how it’s done and how big they are. I just love the idea of using a magazine of your choice, I have so many craft mags that I have read and read, they would look great in a white frame.

I’ve also seen and saved similar ones for a future project - I think you’ve just kicked me up the bum to do so
What size is your punch and where did you get it from ?

They’re gorgeous.
Sorry I didn’t make it to the coven last night. The volleyball loss this week (yes, again) was especially tiring…
Hope y’all had a great time.

The butterflies are very effective - what a great idea to reuse, reduce and receycle. i think I might make this as a craft project with my 11 year old daughter over the Easter break. Thanks for sharing!

I love it. I was so inspired by Erin’s recycle project too. I keep wanting to use magazine pages for something, and keep putting it off.
