On Saturday morning, very very early (in the DARK in fact) I’m heading off to New Zealand for a week of work. But I’ll also get to spend some time with my son and my parents and siblings and their families. It will be so good to see them all.
I’m taking with me this quilt. It is a gift for my son’s best friend’s parents. These dear people have been so kind to Clancy, watching out for him and feeding him and loving him since he moved to New Zealand last year. It has made his move much easier for me knowing that he has friends who are there for him and I will always be grateful to them.

This trip has happened very suddenly and so Tracey the Wonder Quilter has jumped to my rescue once again and quilted this so beautifully. Here’s a close-up so you can see her great quilting. I washed it today so now it’s all crinkly and gorgeous. Love a crinkly quilt ![]()
Thank you, Tracey! We have great friends on BOTH sides of the Tasman.

Have a fantastic time over there, not too much shoe shopping.
I really like that quilt, the colours in the border are wonderful, I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated.

Breathless! That is beautiful! Have a super time and hug Clancy tight! Is the quilt quilted in colored thread or are my eyes deceiving me?

Hi guys! I’m here in NZ, sitting in my son’s room using his mega-cool computer with better sound than our sound system at home
It smells like socks here.
And it’s not as cold as I expected to be.
But it is Sunday and Palmerston North is shut!

Hi Kirsty, That’s a lovely quilt. Beautifully quilted by Tracey too.
New Zealand welcomes you home! ( even if it is damp and very leafy everywhere at the moment.) Hamilton was very, er damp/foggy last Friday when we happened to be there. ( sunshine in Tauranga! )
Enjoy visiting family, Cheers Ali.
